Hello! I’m super excited for this new school year that is starting soon and meeting my new students. Although we are living in tough times, we have been working extra hard the past few weeks to create a safe environment for your child to learn in.
For example, we have physically distanced all students’ desks to give them ample of room between each one. They are marked with tape so they know where it should remain throughout the day. We have also put lines on the floor for line ups when students will go outside for their recess to practice distancing.
Here is to the start of a different, yet amazing year full of learning! 🙂
Meet the Teacher
My name is Ms. Karianne Veilleux and I will be the Grade 3 teacher for the 2020-2021 schoolyear. This will be my 8th year teaching but my second year at MHEC. I’m really excited to make this year the best schoolyear yet!
I grew up in Hearst and graduated High School in 2008. I then went to the Université de Hearst for my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Then I moved to Ottawa in 2011 for Teacher’s College and have been a qualified Teacher since June 2012. I spent my first years teaching in French in Hearst and decided I wanted a new challenge so I took a leap of faith and applied for the Grade 3 position that was available last year. It’s a decision I don’t regret! 🙂
I have three wonderful kids – Audrey who is 8, Samuel who is 6 and Léa who is 2.5 years old. I’m also a stepmom to two amazing little girls – Zia who is 6 and Fay who is 4. With 5 kids running around, life is definitely busy!
I absolutely love the outdoors – hiking, snowshoeing, four wheeling, camping, fishing, etc. Anything outdoors, I’m always up for a new adventure.
Now that you know a little bit more about me, I cannot wait to meet my new students and have a fun year filled with lots of learning with them! Our classroom has a Camping theme so we will be little campers going on “Field Trips” everyday.
Also, don’t hesitate to contact me via email (email@example.com) if you have questions, hesitations, suggestions or anything at all. 🙂
