Miss. Vanessa Proulx

Hello!

I hope you all had an enjoyable summer and are ready to get back into the school grove! My name is Vanessa Proulx and I will be teaching once again in the high school. This year I am teaching Grade 9 English, Learning Strategies, Media Studies, or Grade 11 English, Grade 10 Civics and Careers, Grade 10 English, Grade 11 Housing and Home Design as well as Grade 12 Visual Arts. I have so many fun plans and activities planned for this and I hope you and your child can be apart of all the fun.

We’ve done quite a few things already this semester. My English students have been working on a Spooky Halloween themed unit this month and have learned about the curious case of Lizzie Borden, conducted a debate on who Jack the Ripper might have been, and have searched for clues on the Salem Witch Trials.

My Learning Strategies students have looked into goal setting, taking note of their school weaknesses and working on to improve their skill sets in reading, writing, and math. These students have also participated in selected career surveys and have begun to formulate career pathways in preparedness for their futures.

Below you will see a few photos of some projects from our classroom.

Keep checking for more updates as we switch into new semesters and new courses!
